How selling works
From the first photos to payment: here is every step and what to keep in mind.
1. Take photos
Good photos replace a visit to a dealer. A smartphone is perfectly sufficient.
- Daylight or bright, even lighting, ideally without flash
- A calm, pale background such as a tablecloth or a sheet of paper
- For each item, an overall view from the front and the back
- Close-ups of stamps, maker marks and inscriptions
- Show damage, repairs and missing parts honestly
- Include documents, cases and accessories
2. Send your request
Use our form for up to 10 files of max. 20 MB each. You are welcome to send further photos via WhatsApp to +49 30 6500 1800 or by email to info@wwiidaggers.de. Add a few words about what you know, for example where the items come from.
3. Receive a first appraisal
We look at every item and get back to you with a first appraisal: what it is, what determines its value and whether we can buy it. Sometimes we ask for more photos, for instance of a reverse side or a stamp. The appraisal is free and does not commit you to anything.
4. Offer and agreement
If you want to sell, we name a concrete price. Take your time and ask questions at any point. We only proceed once you agree.
5. Handover
You have two options:
- By post: after we agree, you send the items to our address in Berlin. We tell you beforehand what to consider when packing.
- In person in Berlin: you hand over the items by appointment at our premises in Berlin-Reinickendorf.
For shipping we recommend an insured parcel service with tracking.
6. Payment
Once we have received and inspected the items, we pay the agreed amount: by bank transfer, by PayPal or in cash on handover in person. We are happy to agree on other methods.
Packing safely
- Wrap each item individually in tissue paper or a soft cloth
- Protect blades and points with firm cardboard
- Leave decorations in their case; place certificates flat between two pieces of card
- Use sturdy boxes and pad all gaps well
- Enclose a list of the items and photograph everything before sending
Frequently asked questions
Can I ask without sending photos?
Yes, feel free to write to us. For an appraisal we do need photos, though. Without them we can only give a general answer.
Can I visit you?
Yes, by appointment in Berlin. Please send us photos in advance so that we can prepare.
Do I have to sell after the appraisal?
No. The appraisal is free and without obligation. You are free to accept our offer or not.
Do you have something we should look at?
Simply send us photos. The first appraisal is free, and you decide afterwards in your own time.
