Buying and appraisal

What do you buy?

Historical militaria from the 19th and 20th centuries: daggers and sabres, especially foreign daggers, bayonets, orders and decorations, helmets, uniforms, documents, photos, Allach porcelain and complete estates and collections.

Does the first appraisal cost anything?

No. The first appraisal based on your photos is free and without obligation.

I do not know what I have. Is that a problem?

No, that is quite normal. Send photos; we identify the items and explain what they are.

How does the appraisal work?

Based on your photos we check originality, condition, completeness, rarity and provenance. If necessary we ask for more pictures. You then receive a first appraisal and, if you wish, a concrete offer.

Do you buy damaged or incomplete items?

Yes, as long as they are of historical interest. Please photograph damage clearly.

Should I clean the items first?

Please do not. Cleaning and polishing can destroy patina, paint and value. Photograph everything as it is.

Am I obliged to sell after the appraisal?

No. You are free to accept our offer or not.

Handover and payment

How do the items get to you?

Only once we agree: you post the items to our address in Berlin, or you hand them over to us in person by appointment.

How do you pay?

By bank transfer, by PayPal or in cash on handover in Berlin. We are happy to agree on other methods.

Can I drop by without an appointment?

Please do not. Handovers in person are only possible by prior appointment.

How should I pack items for shipping?

Wrap each item individually, protect blades and points with cardboard, pad all gaps and use a sturdy box. We recommend insured shipping with tracking. More under How it works.

Legal matters and data protection

Am I allowed to sell historical militaria?

Trading historical militaria is generally permitted in Germany. However, § 86 and § 86a of the German Criminal Code apply to symbols of unconstitutional organisations, so we review every item before purchase. This information does not replace legal advice in an individual case.

What happens to items that bear such symbols?

We check in each case whether and how a legally compliant purchase is possible and tell you openly. Our website never shows such symbols.

Will my data be treated confidentially?

Yes. We use your details and photos only to process your request. See our privacy policy for details.

Selling from abroad

Do you buy from abroad?

Yes. Send us photos as usual. After we agree, you ship the items to Berlin. Please check in advance whether export from your country is permitted.

Which languages can I use?

German, English and Russian.

How do I get paid abroad?

By international bank transfer or by PayPal.

Do you have something we should look at?

Simply send us photos. The first appraisal is free, and you decide afterwards in your own time.
