How to sell decorations to us

What makes decorations valuable
With decorations, details often decide: original or copy, maker and material, the condition of enamel and pin, and whether case and certificate have survived. Groups that can be attributed to one person are particularly sought after.
Keep certificates and cases together
- Award certificates and documents prove the provenance.
- Cases and issue packets belong to the piece and often increase its value.
- Photos and documents of the same person make a group more meaningful.
Original or later copy?
Many well-known decorations were later copied, some during the period and some as re-issues after 1957. Without experience this is hard to tell. Sharp photos of the front and reverse, maker marks and fixing are enough for a first assessment.
Legal note
Some decorations bear symbols covered by § 86a of the German Criminal Code. We review every item before purchase. Our website never shows such symbols.

Frequently asked questions
Should I clean decorations before selling?
No. Cleaning can damage patina and enamel and reduce the value.
I only have the decoration, without certificate. Is it worth asking?
Yes. Certificates often increase the value, but we are happy to look at single decorations too.
Do you buy miniatures and medal bars?
Yes, as well as ribbon bars, ribbons and cases.
How do I get paid?
By bank transfer, PayPal or in cash on handover in person in Berlin.
